Context

Guanábana is a batido fruit: its pulp is pressed and mixed with milk or water into the champola of Brazil and the carato of Puerto Rico, and in Ecuador the nuns of convents north of Quito beat it into helados de paila. It is also marketed online as a cancer cure, which no study in people supports, and that trade takes an ordinary fruit from ordinary kitchens and sells it back as a miracle. The batido is the honest version.
