Route

Pending

The routes are written. They are not yet mapped.

This entry's cultural layer already names where it came from and how it moved. What it does not yet carry is that movement as structure: ordered waypoints with real coordinates, and a mechanism on each leg. Until it does, the layer stays an empty slot rather than a drawn line, because a map built from prose would be a guess with a projection under it.

Hazel is a divining wood and a Halloween oracle. The forked rod cut for water-finding is traditionally hazel, and on Nutcrack Night nuts were named for suitors and set by the fire, the one that burned steady rather than jumping being the true match. In Irish tradition hazelnuts falling into a well are the source of wisdom the Salmon of Knowledge eats. A nut that stores well through winter was put to work predicting things.
