Route

Pending

The routes are written. They are not yet mapped.

This entry's cultural layer already names where it came from and how it moved. What it does not yet carry is that movement as structure: ordered waypoints with real coordinates, and a mechanism on each leg. Until it does, the layer stays an empty slot rather than a drawn line, because a map built from prose would be a guess with a projection under it.

Rite

The cherry is the fruit of paradise in medieval Europe, given to the Virgin in the Cherry Tree Carol when the tree bows to her hand. In Japan the tree is the emblem and the fruit is not the point: sakura falls at its best, which made it the image of a short life ended well, and the state used exactly that reading to send young men to die in the Second World War. The same blossom is a picnic and a recruitment poster, depending on who is holding it.
