Route

Pending

The routes are written. They are not yet mapped.

This entry's cultural layer already names where it came from and how it moved. What it does not yet carry is that movement as structure: ordered waypoints with real coordinates, and a mechanism on each leg. Until it does, the layer stays an empty slot rather than a drawn line, because a map built from prose would be a guess with a projection under it.

Rite

Wales wears the leek. The story has Welsh soldiers putting leeks in their caps to tell each other apart in a seventh-century battle against the Saxons, and whether or not that happened, the leek is worn on Saint David's Day and eaten by Welsh Guards recruits on parade. Shakespeare has Fluellen force one on Pistol at the point of a cudgel. A vegetable became a national emblem by being what the ground gave you to identify yourself with.
