Route
PendingThe routes are written. They are not yet mapped.
This entry's cultural layer already names where it came from and how it moved. What it does not yet carry is that movement as structure: ordered waypoints with real coordinates, and a mechanism on each leg. Until it does, the layer stays an empty slot rather than a drawn line, because a map built from prose would be a guess with a projection under it.

Rite
The fast is broken with a date. Across the Muslim world iftar begins with dates and water in emulation of the Prophet, so at sunset through Ramadan roughly two billion people reach for the same fruit at the same moment for the same reason. The date palm is named repeatedly in the Quran, was the caravan food that made desert crossing possible, and is given to a woman in labour in the story of Maryam. It is a staple that never stopped being a rite.
